ALAN BROADSTOCK
Alan has been involved in dogs for over 40 years and has enjoyed the company of a variety of breeds living at home with him over the years. He showed a W.F.T. in the early 1960’s, but family and work commitments prevented further involvement in showing until the late 1970’s.
He, along with his wife Maureen, started showing Staffordshire Bull Terriers under the ARAD affix and later - a Parson Russell Terrier. He joined the committee of the Western S.B.T. Society in 1983, and served as the Show Manager at many of the Society’s shows over the years. He was made a Life Vice President of this Society in 2001.
In partnership with Mr Adrian Bell, they own several quality Parson Russell Terriers under the TWOMATES affix. A Pug and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel share the settee with him at the present time.
He is currently the Chairman of Treharris & District Canine Society, a position he has held for 20 years. He was also an active committee member of the Parson Russell Terrier Club from 1993 to 2003.
He awards Challenge Certificates in S.B.T.’s & P.R.T.’s and has judged these breeds extensively both in U.K. and abroad - Moscow (1); Israel (2); Germany (4); Finland (1); Eire (4); Sweden (1); N. Ireland (1); S. Africa – all Terrier Breeds & Terrier Group (1).
At Tel Aviv International Show 1994 he was passed by the F.C.I. to judge Bull Terriers & Staffordshire Bull Terriers & award C.C.’s or CAC’s/CACIBS in both breeds at the show.
In 2000, he was passed by the Kennel Union of Southern Africa.to award C.C.’s in all Terrier breeds, and judge a Terrier Group in South Africa.
He currently judges all seven groups of breeds to Best in Show at Open Show level in the U.K.
He is very proud to have judged P.R.T’s at the Breed Club Championship Show – November 2004 and at CRUFTS - March 2006 and S.B.T’s at Birmingham Dog Show Society Ltd. in 2006
He is also very proud to be contracted to judge S.B.T’s (dogs) at CRUFTS - March 2009.
He is honoured to have been asked to judge S.B.T’s & P.R.T’s at the Royal Canberra Show - February 2008.
